Sant Feliu de Guixols Cataluna
Sant Feliu de Guixols is a village on the Costa Brava, about 15 miles north of LLoret de Mar and 60 miles to the north of Barcelona. It is 30 minutes from the Girona - Costa Brava Airport and 75 minutes from the Barcelona Airport. Sant Feliu de Guixols is set in the Aro valley and surrounded by the Gavarres hills, the Montclar mountain and the Cadiretes massif, with typically Mediterranean woods of pine and holm oak. The coast is a landscape of cliffs, coves, bays and beautiful beaches. The town itself has a rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage with a Monastery built in 1723 by the Benedictine order, the 18th century Old Fort and the Sea Rescue building (1889), both situated on the site of the old medieval harbour. The seafront has a very pleasant promenade lined with pavement cafes leading to the harbour at the Northern end.
