Gandia lies about 60 miles
north of Alicante along the Costa Blanca and around 40 miles
south of Valencia.
Gandia is a seaport of eastern Spain,
on the Costa Blanca. Valencia is the nearest major city. It is
located on the left bank of the river Alcy or Serpis, which waters
one of the richest plains of Valencia and enters the Mediterranean
Sea at the small harbour of El Grao. Surrounded by orange trees,
Gandia is the centre of agriculture for the area. It has a large
fishing business due to its harbour and offers interesting places
to visit. Gandia's city centre is full of palm tree promenades
with bars, restaurants and shops. Gandia was an important cultural
and commercial centre during the 15th and 16th centuries
