 Blanes is located on the Costa Brava beside the beautiful
bay formed by the Rock of Sa Palomera and Santa Anna Point, behind
the commercial port and fishing harbour and the marina. To the
west is the large beach of Sabanell with campsites and big pine
groves reaching down to the sea. Blanes was once a small fishing
town and still retains some of its original charm, with ancient
monuments, churches and buildings, although the beachfront is
now lined with high rise buildings and caters mainly for the
